Tuberculate Doublegaster Ant
Size 8mm. The ant was found lonely roaming on the leaf of a bush, resting, moving but always coming back to the same spot. This species has a pustulose skin. Only the gaster is smooth. It is segmented into two parts with the front part maybe one third. Both sections are golden but shimmering in different intensity and the back part more hairy. This individual had reddish legs. This species is commonly called Dolly Ant. I prefer to try to follow the Latin name since it is beautifully descriptive or at least could serve as a hint.
