Black Clock Beetle

Siye 18mm. Found on tree next to creek in the mountains. The beetle was head down and didn't move. The beetle is all black. Thorax quite narrow and rounded. Abdomen with longitudinal stripes. The tail is flattened. There are various similar beetles.
