Black Nose-haired Flower Weevil
Size 3.5mm. Two of these weevils were found eating inside a flower of a native bush. The animal can readily fly but was patient being photographed, not too keen to get away. Look its nose hair! I could not locate a picture match from Australia. The pictures that match are all from http://www.bugguide.net and are placed in the Baridinae subfamily. Update 3/2/2017: I tempt an identification after 7 of these weevils had a very cheerful party on our lilly pilly bush. They were running around, mating and putting those cute holes into the lilly pilly fruit. As you can see in a picture not all individuals show the nose-hair. The animals found now are much bigger than 3mm, probably about double that. I could only find one fruiting branch where all of them were, but I am sure they will feast on some or all of the other fruit, too. Lucky, we grow them for local nature and not for our own use. I read that this species - assuming my ID is correct and like the name says - is a non-native pest on orchids.
