Bronze Nugget Beetle
This animal is about 5mm. It seems quite common. I didn't have time yet, trying to identify it. Update 24/11/2016: A first tentative ID is Cryptocephalinae. Closest match is Pachybrachis. Its eyes have an interesting dent where the antennae are located. This specimen seems quite unique or I am completely misguided. It has relatively long antennae, multisegmented. Its legs are also long, reddish in colour with short but wide tarsi. Its English name Warty Leaf Beetle does not do justice to its metallic character (there are beetles ending on ferruginosus and even a genus Metallactus in this group). Taxonomically it is difficult to follow the taxonomic trail since most genera are missing. It could be Chlamisus, Neochlamisus, Fulcidax (antennae different etc). Update 24/5/2017: I am still confident that this species is within the Cryptocephalini tribe. I still could not find a perfect match. For the moment, I am renaming it, since it is a beetle (Coleoptera) and not a bug (Hemiptera).
