Coin-spotted Ladybird
Size 7mm. This ladybird was found where a mixed habitat, mangrove wetland/dry Eucalypt meets lawn parklands. It was quite shy, crawling on a sapling swaying in the wind. It resembles what I call Ironheart ladybird, but shows more and different orange spots, (relatively) consistent with the photo found on ALA. This species seems to have most observations near Brisbane where it was found. In lack of an English name, I adhered to the Latin translation. I have to admit that the spots don't look like coins, and maybe the taxonomist describing the species had other coins in mind.
