Moonshine Pill Beetle
Size 10mm. Found in wet moss in forest habitat at altitude. The beetle did not want to show its head properly. I am confident that it is a Pill Beetle, Byrrhus. I made up its vernacular name myself based on the meaning of luniger. The observed beetle is missing the moonshaped spots which makes me assume that this species is mis-respresented. Byrrhus luniger feeds from Pogonatum urnigerum (German: Grosses Filzmützenmoos).
