White-headed Weevil
Size 12mm. Found in former pastural land in bush. I matched this species to https://brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_weevils/WhiteHeaded.htm and also adapt the English name. It is a mystery to me why it was called White-headed Weevil while the Latin translates into Grey or Greyish. The weevil has quite distinct double bumps on its forehead. Its snout is very short and wide, dark in colour, black with a hint of red. The antennae are attached at the base, not showing an elbow. Elytra shows some white patches in brown and some black. Its head looks like it is badly shaven, showing black hair stubbles. Legs are long and strong with the typical joints, tarsi claws.
