Brown Bunyip
Size about 30mm. Found in mangrove wetland/open dry eucalyptus forest with undergroth. The animial was sitting on a tree pretending being one of the many empty molts. When it noticed that I was photographing it slowly moved away in a movement hard to even notice. Despite a great Australian website available for Cicada enthousiasts, I am not completely sure about this identification. The animal has the spots on its wing ends and shows other features that I can see in the picture representations on http://dr-pop.net/tamasa.htm as well as on ALA. Please don't use my website for identifications, especially if there are excellent specific pages out there.
