Females Only Leafhopper
Huge animal found on a gum tree trunk. It is very flat. It is well camouflaged with it bright colour and red specks. I have not found an adult yet, since the photo shows a nymph. The common name is The World's Largest Leafhopper. The apostrophe does not quite flatter my database, so I renamed it. I read that since its discovery in the early 1800 no male has ever been found and that it is assumed that it reproduces by parthogenesis. In terms of sensation, I think size does not always matter, but a matriarch taxon seems quite refreshing and more interesting than physical size.
