Grevillea Pinaster Psyllid
Beautiful minute fly. About 1.5mm in size. Identification attempts normally fail with tiny and rarely photographed animals. Hence, I originally named this species myself. The name Angel Fly referred to is beauty with big wings. The first time I became aware of this species, one individual was consumed by a wasp (which I only noticed when I checked the documentation of that species). A friendly QuestaGame expertise pointed out that this is a Psyllid. Hence I renamed this species into Grevillea Pinaster Psyllid, referencing the host plant that it was found on. Thank you so much for the assistance. I also moved this species documentation to Hemiptera, since it is rather a bug than a fly. Wikipedia calls this family 'Jumping Plant Louse'. There is also a fine website presenting different genera and species with beautiful pictures. You might want to check there: http://psyllids.info/photos.php Update: this species was now also found on our peas.
