Penthimiin Leafhopper
Small hopper with that looks like a stealth fighter jet. Its back is angled downwards and also the rest of the body looks like it is designed with straight lines. I identified this animal based on http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_leafhoppers/PenthimiinLeafhopper.htm but didn't find (or search long for) confirmation. Upate 9/9/2017: This animal was found again on our gardenia plant. Size 6mm. It did not move for quite some time. It seemed to relax in the (wind) shelter of a slightly bent leaf. Accordingly, taking the photograph was hard, too. There are various records of this species, some under the name Reticulated Planthopper http://www.bowerbird.org.au/observations/86960). For the moment, I stay with http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_leafhoppers/PenthimiinLeafhopper.htm (accessed 9/9/2017). I will need to check on the systematics of the planthopper, leafhopper, treehopper, froghoppers and other hoppers.
