Red Stalk-eyed Bug
Size about 4mm. It was found in a loose forest habitat shortly after I spotted an even smaller nymph. Both were totally red, highly visible on green leaves. Both bugs were trying to avoid me, were alert to my presence and moved away whenever approached. The wings are not yet developped fully. They look like a black overcoat on an otherwise bright orange body. On the back of the abdomen black dots that look like the buttons of the coat show along the midline. The eyes are characteristic, far extended on a stalk. It somehow reminds me of the eye arrangement of a hammerhead shark. Antennae are long, a few longish segments with a clubbed end. Legs are clawed, long and black with fine red markings at the base.
