Pale Brown Hawk Moth
Size about 70mm. We found a brown caterpillar on our vine. It was obviously imitating the vine stem, showing same colouration and thickness. Later we found a green individual nearby. It started to wiggle when I tried to photograph it, folding back some neighboring leaves. It wiggled until it dropped to the ground, about 1.40metres. There it played dead. After a while, it started to crawl away from the grape vine, to another bush that was probably not on the menue. Since I have never done any insect spotligthing or night photography, I have not come across the moth yet. Based on this species, I have decided to no longer caterpillars of a known animal in the various moths category, but have their own gallery. Both animals show fake eyes with a black, red, white vertical pattern inside and outside a bit of yellow.
