Banana Stalk Fly

This fly can be found on wet decaying organic fruit and vegetable. Unfortunately, taxonomy of this species has been confused unnecessarily. It is obviously quite an important research animal with lots of interesting stories to be found on the internet. It makes me sad that some publicly funded researchers do a great job, but completely mess taxonomy up and destroy their own industry by doing so.
