Bindi Cricket
Size about 20mm. Hanging on a fruiting bush next to a path bordering a little forest and open meadow. I found one exact match on ALA http://biocache.ala.org.au/occurrences/b61b952d-d657-4601-86ba-0663da6840a6) The observation was not identified to species level despite the fact that it was collected. It showed an adult while mine might be a nymph stage with the wings only small bumps. This species shows such a distinct white diamond shaped mark on its forehead that I call it Bindi Cricket. Its antennae are very long, body is shortish and slightly bent. Large hind legs, shorter forelegs. Body colour was a brown-red-yellow. Legs show some red thorny bits. A few photos of the underside are showing abdomen segments and smallish ovipostor.
