Ground Running Wasp
Size about 10mm. Running on green cover on ground. It was hopping from plant to plant, going underneath, next to some stinging nettles. I assume it was checking for caterpillars or bugs to parasitise. Occasionally, it was flapping its wings. It is well flighted. Long ovipostor comes out of abdomen that has two small angled protrusions. Abdomen is shiny black with beautiful bright bands at the apex and closer to its waist. Wings are patterned. Dorsum is shiny Bordeaux coloured with a brighter spot in between wing attachments. Head looks rectangular with large roundish compound eyes.
