Long-waisted Torymid Wasp
It is hard not to fall in love with those tiny animals once you see past their size. This animal was 2mm, maybe 3 and is still a big individual among this group. It is definitely different to the one's previously documented. It has a beautiful long waist. The head pattern around its oculi is quite unique. The usual trigon formed by the oculi is mirrored by a black pattern. You can also see that the front thorax has black bands on bright yellow body and is ending with bright blue rings leading into an elevated darker orange back half of the thorax. Wings have a dark spot. This species of course would need to be identified under the microscope by an expert. Here, it is important to separate differently looking animals and the name is only supposed to help, finding and remembering them easier. Update: I had a long photography session (I was actually experimenting with a white plastic paper) with an animal that I put into this category. It has slightly less segments on its antennae. The front of the thorax has a big black colouration unlike the previously found one. Its waist seems a bit shorter but is still quite distinctive.
