Orange Ophionin Wasp
Large wasp. Size about 23mm body only (without legs and antennae). Found tucked away into our native bush, probably hiding from the winds. It is most probably a Ophionin wasp but there are not enough curated pictures on genus or species level out there to compare. The animal had very long antennae, uncharacteristic large ocelli. Update 7/9/2017: I moved one photo into a new gallery called Orange Tryphonin Wasp. It was definitely a different species.
