Orange Spider Wasp

Size 30mm. A very large wasp. As its name suggests it hunts spiders. It is two-coloured, black and orange. We observed the wasp in an open field dragging a large huntsman spider for a long distance. Update 15/10/2017: This afternoon, only a week after documenting the Orange Spider Wasp with prey, a large wasp was suddenly only centimeters from my face. It was visibly interested in me, giving me the dead stare. Its abdomen looks totally different, completely black with almost red bands at the back. So, it might be a different species but most probably closely related.
