Orange Wing-band Wasp
Size 9mm. Found on the underside of a Lilly Pilly leaf. There was a similar sized Ichneumon wasp nearby, too. This wasp reminds of a Chalcid wasp with large and bent hind leg femur. Antennae are long though, have a large orange base. The wasp has a very obvious orange band across its wings roughly where the thorax meets the abdomen. The wings hardly cover the body length, start dark and continue black turning into transparent behind the orange band. The thorax is pustulose dark while the abdomen is bright orange. From where the hind legs meet the body a dubious long white spur pokes out forward. Legs are orange and seem to show spurs.
