Pink Flower Spider
My photo of the Pink Flower Spider was sent to QuestaGames as an observation. The taxonomic expert pointed out that Wikipedia and ALA have not updated to the taxon used by GBIF, transfer into new genus, based on a revision in 2014 (abstract accessed 14/6/2016, see http://www.miiz.waw.pl/periodicals/annales-zoologici/abstracts/AZ-64-3-Abstrakty.pdf). Another Australian resource points out that it is now impossible to tell three species apart (see http://www.arachne.org.au/01_cms/details.asp?ID=1037, accessed 14/6/2016), Lehtinelagia multopunctata, Lehtinelagia variabilis, Lehtinelagia evanida. Based on distribution data alone, my photo might rather represent Lehtinelagia multopuctata. I might change my use of names at a later stage. Quite an interesting case, that gives plenty of input to think about with regards to Biodiversity data collection (what taxonomic group, expertise and authorisation level).
