Common Barbel

Freshwater fish photographed in Luzern near the Chapelbridge. The fish congregate in the mouth of the fast flowing river hiding from the current in a crevice in the stony ground substrate. There is still some question as to whether the photographed fishes might be Black Carp which is unlikely since that species is not known from around here.
