European Badger

Badgers being high up on my wish list, on Jan 23, 2019, I came across a beautiful individual during day time and - hurray - with my camera ready. The animal shows some injuries on its throat. Hence, I notified authorities and sent them some pictures of the wounds. Badgers seem to often get stuck in barbed wire fences, causing injuries which the animal's wounds correspond with. The wounds seem older and healing well. The cold temperatures (it was about minus 13 degrees that day) might help with the healing process.
