Moon Snail

Difficult to distinguish between Sand and Moon Snails (both Naticidae). They look similar and I will definitely misidentify them. I often come across egg mass of Moon Snail, a sand collar lying on the sea bed in shallow water. See also the difference to Leaden Sand Snail egg mass that is transparent. If I am not mistaken these are predatory snails that drill a neat hole into bivalves and eat them.
