Blue Corn-Lily
Very problematic, invasive plant. We helped trying to eradicate it from Springbrook National Park. This plant spreads easily, is tolerant to shady conditions. Fighting it with herbicides proves not effective. Ripping it out with their rhycoma is the only, unfortunately, laborous way to get rid of it. The problem is that this plant will take over rainforest habitat, and leave no room for native plants. In the long run, this will affect native wildlife and other ecosystems, too. True to liberal philosophy, this plant is still readily sold in supermarkets (similar to Lantana, that has million dollar campaigns to rid Australia of them at the same time).
