Little Eagle
Beautiful, smallish raptor. Taxonomy is still messed up in the 21st century and this not being a rare bird. ALA has it as a Falconiformes, while in GBIF and other sources (Australian BirdLife list) it belongs to Accipitriformes. A subspecies has been removed a short while ago, pointing to the fact that this is not an under-researched species. But maybe, Australia has too many taxonomist who refuse to acknowledge there is such as thing as Phylogeny, that could solve decades of speculation and avoid it to continue, and doing so, avoiding a waste of taxpayer money in the future.
