Tent trapped
PDF Week 4/2016: Canon 7D, 170mm (on 18-200mm lens), 1/250, f32, ISO 100, external flash.
Words of the photographer
The photo shows a tent spider. It was my goal to give the web the same attention as its spider. On the web spiders are giving me lots of attention, too. When I saw the afternoon light I felt that the time was right to try and create the picture that I had in mind for a few weeks.
Since we are just back from camping, the tent theme matched. Any feedback welcome. One of my questions as so often: can my audience see the beauty of animals beyond their socialised clichees? Does the spider cause emotions of disgust or fear in anyone? While I can empathise with such views they quickly step aside in my world and I forget about them.
