Goniobranchus tinctorius
This is what I found to be commonly represented as Goniobranchus tinctorius by branch experts. It remains to be seen if that is correct once this complex of species is resolved and clarified. At the moment, taxonomists and some world renowned hobby-taxonomists regard Goniobranchus tinctorius as the only valid container taxon for dorid branchs in this colour group. Rather than various misidentifications - that unfortunately I fell victim to as well - it may make sense to start from scratch. A great picture collection of this complex can be found on a Japanese website. Anyone with investigative flair should try to make sense of Rudman's decisions on Seaslug Forum - as highly interesting as confusing (and probably wrong). So, be aware that this species might be reassigned yet to another taxon.
