Goniodoridella sp. 1
The 'Branch of the Seaway'. This is by far the most abundant and most reliably found nudibranch at the Gold Coast Seaway. Queensland Museum has blocked the unique opportunity for this species to be described by an international branch taxonomist who has an outstanding reputation and publication record. Quite contrary to one of the two Australian branch taxonomists who - apart from boycotting his colleagues and amateurs - knows a lot about Joyweed and landsnails but misidentified Goniodoridella sp. 2 and is not man enough to correct his mistake which keeps being spread across the globe. It is frustrating to witness Queensland Museum promoting the exploitation of the marine environment and declining any responsibility to do their job in documenting Queensland's unique heritage and marine environment. Let's not allow them to get away with pretending to serve science (organising science festival next year), document marine biodiversity (ignoring and working against dozens of species being described in SE Queensland alone) and supporting citizen scientists (while doing the opposite).
