Jorunna sp. 2
This branch is as common as it is misidentified (by experts) as Jorunna ramicola. It is lacking the characteristics and seems an undescribed species. It is one of the best camouflaged animals that I can imagine. It can rarely been spotted even if one knows that it should be there because of its obvious egg spirals on a common sponge (Dysidea ramicola has not been found in Queensland yet). This animal desperately needs to be looked at by scientists and the public. It is so excitingly special. Another example how common branchs elude investigation because there is simply no interest (unless there is a chance to exploit such animals). There should be various applications in the industry learning from this animal. It can adapt its body, develop body flaps, change the structure of its skin and gill opening, retract rhinophores all for the sake of camouflage.
