Polyceridae sp. 1
This might be a new species. I dedicate it to all the Australian marine biologists and law makers that prevent scientific progress. I link it with the hope that the lawmakers correct the perversion of the Nagoya protocol and investigate the circumstances leading to the Biodiscovery Act in Queensland.
Initially posted and listed as Okenia sp. 2, mainly based on its top view. I now assume that it belongs to some genus in the Polyceridae family. The rhinophores, gills and view from the side and front point away from Okenia. This had to be reflected. Further morphological analyses are necessary. So, hopefully someone with a licence and good connections with Australian marine biologists will find it again. The branch is easy to find due to its distinctive habitat and appearance. Therefore, I assume that this is a relatively rare sighting but not a totally new one. But it might be a precious documentation after all.
